Planning Applications

A significant part of our work is the submission of planning applications for our clients. These can be outline applications to establish the principle of a development or full applications requiring details of the specific proposal. As a general rule, if the application is straightforward and in accordance with planning policies, we may advise clients that our help is not required. We will, however, be able to make recommendations if the client requires assistance with specific aspects of an application, for example architectural services.

For more difficult applications, those that are complicated, controversial or raise policy issues we assemble and submit the application, often in association with architect colleagues. This can include preparing planning statements, design and access statements and other reports. When specialist input is required we can organise and coordinate supporting assessments from a wide range of associates including highway and water engineers, landscape architects, contamination experts, ecologists and lawyers.

We also act for clients who are objecting to planning applications.
